These are pictures of a rack that I built for the inside of my TJ.
It extends from the front seats to the tail gate. It sits at 4 feet wide,
which is just short of the soft top bows. It stands 17" off the floor to
make room for the goodies that need to go below the rack.
The rack was made from .120 wall, 1" square tubing which I found
out was way over-kill. The floor is made from Expanded metal. The rack
isn't powder coated yet but it will be soon. Gray to match the interior.
Next time, I'd use the 14 gauge tubing to save on weight. Speaking of weight,
the rack weighs in at 55 lbs which is about 10 lbs more than the backseat.
The front mounts are using factory bolts which are attached to the main
hoop of the roll bar. The rear mounts extend to the floor and bolt to the
wheel wells using the factory holes for the add-a-trunk, nutserts, and
1/4-20 bolts. Plenty strong! Enjoy the pics.....

Update! These racks are
now being manufactured!
Some changes have been made to this rack too. The current production racks are being made from 16 gauge square tubing and the water bottle cutout has been eliminated. The production units will be available powder coated in satin black. The mounting legs have changed slightly but they still attatch to the same locations as in the pics.
